ÖZETIUPITER DOLICHENUS KÜLTÜ:KÖKENLER VE KONOGRAFKuşseven, PınarYüksek Lisans, Arkeoloji ve Sanat Tarihi BölümüTez Yöneticisi: Yrd.Doç.Dr. Julian BennettMay 2007Bu tez, kültün gizli anlamına ışık tutmak amacıyla Roma tanrısı IupiterDolichenus'un ikonografisini incelemektedir. Iupiter Dolichenus tasvirinin Batı'daünik olması ve tanrı tasvirinin Kuzey Suriye'deki yerel hava tanrıları ile yakınbenzerliğinin kültün bölgedeki sürekliliğini gösterebileceğinden Demir Çağı'ndanGreko-Romen Dönem'e kadar Kuzey Suriye'de hava tanrılarının tasvirleri deincelenmiştir.Yazılı antik kaynaklar bulunmadığından, Dolichenus kült objelerindetasvir edilen diğer tanrılar, tanrıçalar ve semboller Dolichenus öğretisinin birbölümünü ifade edebilir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmaya dahil edilmişlerdir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Iupiter Dolichenus, hava tanrıları.
