During one, year period in' 1984® a total of 288." consecutive isolates of /staphylococci obtained froii wound's $ abcessesj. -acne, urine 9" throats nose and ear swabs $ vaginal, and.urethral discoharge^ sputusss from patients at Dokus lylill University Hospital were studied on their susceptibility to certain antibiotics» The organism were then identified as 97 strains of Staphylococcus' aureus and the rest of 288 strains were Staphylococcus epiderraidis (albus) (131) accepted as a /causative agents- for the most of the clinical oases» The susceptibility to antibiotics used weref a)îhe most effective antibiotics were oefoperassone', cepha- lothin8 Methicillinj! carbenicillin, tobramycin $ amoxicillin® gentamycin b)lrythromycins kanaisycin^ gabromyoin» aiapicillin8 penicillin*-»^ trimethoprim 4- sulfamethoxazole, lincomyeias, were considered to hava' lesser effectiveness and c)C*eopen5 tobramycins rifampicin and colistin were found have a very little effect on these staphylococci £
