Abstract (EN)

Fashion has fundamentally been a way to express oneself through clothing and is often associated with attire. People have first sought to make their presence known through their appearance. The need for clothing which stated with basic necessities, has evolved into a requirement for acquiring identity and having different styles in modern society. When individuals present themselves to others, they often experience anxiety due to their concern about how others perceive them. Social appearance anxiety is reated to the development of a healthy body image, negative body perception, and low self-esteem. It refers to the anxiety individuals experience regarding their appearance. This study aims to scientifically evaluate how women perceive casual, sports, and classic clothing styles and their concerns about appearance. Aquantitative reseach model, specifically a descriptive method, was used in the study. The population of the study consists of women living in Çorum, and the sample includes 283 women over the age of 18 who voluntarily participated in the research. A survey was used as the data collection tool. The data collected tool. The data collected was analzed using the SPSS 27 statistical program. The results of the study showed significant differences between women's age, body type, and appearance anxiety. It was found that appearance anxiety increases as women age and their bodies expand.
