Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in order to determine the knowledge of plant protection problems and the knowledge of farmers about chickpea production in Elbistan district of Kahramanmaraş province. For this purpose, a total of 94 chickpea producers, 23 of which made production in 1-10 decare area, and 23 producers in 26-100 decare area, and 48 producers, made a survey with a total of 94 producers. According to the results obtained, a large part of the producers do not know what GMO and biotechnology means, the rate of certified seed use remains low, the number of soil analysis is very low, the producers carry out their agricultural works themselves, while the chemical control, many producers mix plant protection products, it has been found that the use of pesticides are known harmful to human health and the environment, many producers have destroyed empty plant protections product packages or buried them in the ground.
