Abstract (EN)
Objective: One of the leading causes of cirrhosis worldwide is hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. In the treatment of HCV infection in recent years; Significant success has been achieved in the treatment with the introduction of direct-acting antivirals (DEA), which create cure by inhibiting HCV replication and eliminating the virus. In our study, it was aimed to evaluate the success of treatment with IDA regimens in Chronic Hepatitis C (CHC) patients. Materials and Methods: The study started with the approval of the ethics committee with protocol number 2020/310 dated 16.11.2020. The treatment responses of patients who were followed up with the diagnosis of CHC and treated with DAA between 2010-2021, who applied to the Gastroenterology outpatient clinic of Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Faculty of Medicine, were evaluated retrospectively. Findings: A total of 117 patients treated with DEA were evaluated. Male gender comprised 54.7% of the patients included in the evaluation. While 66.7% of the patients were treatment-naive, 58.1% were non-cirrhotic. Genotype 1 was the most common genotype with a rate of 88.9%. Comorbid disease was present in 76.9% of the patients. The most common of these comorbid diseases was hypertension with 40.2%. The patient group given Paritaprevir-Ritonavir-Ombitasvir-Dasabuvir (PrOD) treatment regimen was 31.6%, the patient group given Sofosbuvir/Ledipasvir (SOF/LDV) 53%, and the patient group given Glecaprevir+Pibrentasvir (GLE+PIB) treatment regimen was found to be 15.4%. It was found that HCV-RNA became negative at a rate of 82.1% in the 4th week of treatment in all patients. The post-treatment response of the patients was 97.6%, and the SVR12 rate was 93.9%. HCV-RNA, ALT, AST, GGT, direct bilirubin, AFP and INR levels of the patients were significantly decreased by treatment with DAA drugs (p<0.001, p<0.001, p<0.001, p<0.001, p=0.012, p<0.001, p=0.042). There was a significant increase in albumin levels (p=0.031). Results: In our study, a high rate of end-of-treatment response and SVR12 were obtained with DAA drugs.
