A study on the determination of agricultural characteristics of some chickpea varieties in Karaman ekological conditions

The study, which was carried out in 2022 in order to reveal the agricultural characteristics of some chickpea varieties in Ayrancı/Karaman ecological conditions, was established on the farmer's land in the Ayrancı district center. The research, in which 14 chickpea varieties (Akça, Akçin, Aksu, Arda, Azkan, Çağatay, Çakır, Hasanbey, Ilgaz, İnci, Sezenbey, Uzunlu 99, Yaşa 05 ve Zuhal) registered by agricultural research institutes and a private seed company were used, was carried out in four replications according to the randomized blocks trial design. In the study carried out, 50% flowering time (day), 50% pod setting time (day), vegetation period (day), plant height (cm), first pod height (cm), biological yield (g plant-1), number of pods per plant (unit), number of seeds per plant (unit), hundredseed weight (g), number of main branches per plant (unit), grain yield per plant (g), harvest index (%) and 13 agricultural characteristics, including grain yield (kg), were examined. As a result of the study, it was revealed that chickpea cultivars were significantly or very significantly affected by the yield characteristics examined. While the highest grain yield per decare was determined in Akça standard chickpea variety with 265.4 kg da-1, the lowest grain yield per decare was determined in Uzunlu 99 standard chickpea variety with 108.6 kg da-1.
