Aksu, İ. E. (2025). Examination of the Relationship Between Premonitory Awareness of Stuttering and Secondary Behaviors in School-Aged Children with Stuttering. Master's Degree, Istanbul Atlas University Institute of Postgraduate Education, Department, Istanbul. Aim : The main aim of this study is to reveal how premonitory awareness of stuttering in children with stuttering is related to their secondary behaviors. Along with this main aim, the study also seeks to examine the relationship between the severity of stuttering and secondary behaviors, as well as the relationship between the severity of stuttering and premonitory awareness of stuttering, and whether there is a difference between genders in the evaluations conducted. Method: In this study, quantitative research methods were used. As the model of the research, correlational survey model was used. The sample of the study consisted of 40 school-aged children with stuttering. Gender distribution was determined by the distribution of stuttering in the society. Data were collected using the Stuttering Severity Assessment Tool-4 (STAT-4), the Cognitive, Affective, Linguistic, Motor and Social Assessment for Children with Stuttering (CALMS-TR), the Premonitory Awareness of Stuttering Scale (PAIS-TR) and the Secondary Behavior Assessment Tool. Findings: Within the scope of the study, it is indicated that (r= -,299; p>.05) the relationship between premonitory awareness of stuttering and secondary behaviors is not statistically significant. Also, it is found that (r= ,498; p<.05) the relationship between stuttering severity and secondary behaviors is statistically significant. In the evaluations, it was stated that there was no statistically significant difference between the male and female groups in terms of point averages in terms of CALMS cognitive (p=,426), affective (p=,647), social (p=,489), CESIDA (p=,164), IDDA (p=,506) and PAIS-TR (p=,526). Conclusion: The findings of our study showed that there is a significant relationship between secondary behaviors and stuttering severity, while there is no significant relationship between premonitory awareness of stuttering and secondary behaviors.
