Abstract (EN)

In the scope of this thesis study, engineering software development based on scaling and regression has been studied in order to determine of structural behaviors of arch dams. Along with the prepared software, behavior of single curved arch dams with arch height between 0,6-300m can be obtained under static and dynamic loads, dynamic characteristics can be determined as a result of modal analysis and structure-ground interaction can be taken into account during analysis. The thesis consists of four parts. In the first part, general information and formulas on scaling, Buckingham Π theorem, dynamic characteristics of structures and structural behavior, regression analysis are given. In the second part, the work done within the scope of the thesis is given. In order to develop the formula by dimensional analysis, the concrete results were compared with the actual results by studying concrete and steel carrying systems. Type-1 arch was applied on the dam by determining the accuracy of the results. Formulas were obtained by performing regression analysis instead of dimension analysis formulas that were not valid in dynamic analysis results. The results and suggestions obtained in the third chapter are presented in specify. In the last section, the resources used are specified and finally this section is followed by a resume. As a result of the study, the dynamic characteristics and structural behaviors of the Type-1 Arch Dam can be obtained with the aid of software developed based on scaling and regression analysis.
