Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effect and adequacy level of the urban reinforcement elements (seating elements, top covering elements, lighting elements, garbage cans, plant crates, signs and information plates, water elements, public transportation stops, artistic objects) in the sample areas in the city center of Rize on the city identity. For this purpose, the urban reinforcement elements within the working area were identified and photographed. Survey questions have been created to obtain and evaluate the opinions of the public about these reinforcement elements and to determine their level of competence. As a result of the survey conducted to determine the adequacy level of the reinforcement elements in the sample areas within the scope of the study; It was determined that the seating elements, plant crates, cover elements, water elements, artistic objects existed and were partially sufficient. However, according to the results of the survey, it was determined that there was not enough plant presence in these areas, buffets, stall units, limitation elements, garbage cans, sign / information signs and lighting elements existed but were not sufficient. It was concluded that the lighting elements on the Jewelers Street were insufficient, and the flooring materials were in poor care. It was determined that the exterior facades of the buildings on the main street did not suit the identity of the city and that improvement was necessary. In Rize Square, it was concluded that the amount of hard ground was high, the existing plant crates were not sufficient and there were no reinforcement elements reflecting the identity of the city. Within the working areas, it was determined that only the reinforcement elements in the square park were at a level that could meet the need. At the same time, it has been determined that the reinforcements found together cause confusion because they are not complementary in terms of material and are not compatible with their environment.
