Abstract (EN)

V CUTTİNG THEORIES AND OPTIMIZATION OF HARD METAL INSERTS İN CHIPPING REMOVEL OPERATION (M. Sc. Thesis) Muammer GAVAS DUMLUPINAR UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY 1995 SUMMARY in today's technology cutting operation processes has a very important place in manufacturing processes. The metals especially used in tools and machinery are mostly produced by cutting the metals with chip removal process. Thus the chipping method in metal cutting and the cutting process during chipping has a big importance. in this study, have to cut hard, soft ör various metals by various methods and various cutting tools and the physical cured during cutting process and especially the very complicate physical event, cutting process is studied theorically and practically. As well as has variety in cutting by chip removel process the most common methods are turning and milling, because the o the r s are either the same ör the complex ofvi them. We studied on the cutting theories of the turning and milling operations. Also we studied how to use most efficiently the hard metal inserts and the cutting machines as these are the two most important in technological world. This components dissertation is completed by studying the previoııs works detaily, scanning the sources and comparing and especially working on the machines. Key words are 'Cutting' and 'Hard Metal'.
