Abstract (EN)

In this study, Chestnut shell, which is abundant in nature, was magnetically modified and its use as a biosorbent in the removal of Brillant Blue G (BBG) dye, used in the textile industry, from aqueous solutions was investigated. In order to determine biosorption conditions in the batch system the parameters; solution pH, temperature, amount of biosorbent, contact time were studied whereas in the continuous system the parameters; flow rate, amount of biosorbent and breaking point were studied. The results obtained from experimental data in the study were evaluated using kinetic and isotherm models. Chestnut shell/Nano-Fe3O4 (CS/N-Fe3O4) biosorbent was characterized by SEM, Mösbauer, BET, Zeta potential and FTIR techniques. The biosorption performance of CS/N-Fe3O4 in the real wastewater environment was investigated under the optimum biosorption conditions.
