Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to monitor the seasonal and spatial changes of THMs and HANs in two different networks providing water to Mus city center and to investigate their impact on public health. Within this scope, 4 seasons experimental study was carried out. The results showed that despite the low TOC and TN level THMs level can sometimes exceed the limit values and constitute a risk for public health. The importance of this study is to evaluate the public health effects of these compounds, some of which are carcinogenic and some of them have not been measured before in Muş drinking water network. The results show that although there is not enough chlorination in both networks and the TOC and UV values are low, total THMs have sometimes exceeded 100 µg/L that Turkish drinking water limit and poses public health risk. It was observed that total HAN values were below 2 µg/L concentration in both networks.
