Effects of KOSGEB supports on SME's:Case of Batman province

As in many countries of the world, SMEs are of great importance in our country. SMEs are among the most important factors in the development of the country's economy, the solution of the problem of unemployment, the increase of prosperity and the decrease of external dependency. The KOSGEB Presidency, established in 1990, was added to solve the problems of SMEs in Turkey. Until 2009, KOSGEB's tendency towards only industrialists has changed from 2009 to include most of the SMEs in our country, including service and commerce sector. With the opening of KOSGEB Directorates in 81 provinces, it is aimed that SMEs can reach to support in a shorter time. KOSGEB Directorate was established in Batman in 2011 and started to serve in 2012. Between 2012-2015 in Batman, Entrepreneurship Support, General Supports, Loan Interest Support and SME Project Support were given. In the same year, a number of Business Union Power Union Support and R & D Innovation Support were given. In this study; The prospects of SMEs and the effects of KOSGEB support on SMEs; if any, determination of deficiencies related to KOSGEB supports and what can be done to overcome these deficiencies; what support programs should be put into the lives of SMEs in order for SMEs to proceed with solid steps other than the existing supports were researched. Survey method was used in the research, a questionnaire was conducted with 105 SMEs registered in the KOSGEB database and operating in the provinces and districts of Batman. As a result, some of the KOSGEB supports have left a positive impact on SMEs, some supports have to be revised in line with SME needs, and the remaining support parts have to be removed.
