Al-Madd (Lengthening) in the science of qirâ'at (In the context of common issues of the ten qirâ'âtes/recitations)

The fact that there are different opinions on many subjects of the Madd issue has led to an emphasis on the practices related to the subject in the qira'ah literature. The most basic distinction related to the aforementioned issue in the teaching and writing of qirâ'âh is the different criteria in the amount of far' madds and the schools that emerged as a result of this. However, almost every difference in the subject of mad takes place on the axis of trust to the subject of asl-far'. The works that were the source of the 'ashru'l-kubrâ program, which also includes the 'ashru's-sugrâ program of the qirâ'âh education, were used as the main sources of the research, during the research, especially the works of the previous periods were frequently referenced. In the study, the problems caused by the ijtihad-based conflicts concerning the whole of the qurrâ in the subject of madd were discussed and the background of these conflicts was investigated. Again, the opinions that are evidence of the problems related to the subject have been comprehensively evaluated and different practices in Turkey related to the subject in question are included with their arguments. As a result, it has been determined that the conflicts in the qira'ah literature related to the subject of madd occurs on the axis of ijtihad and some of the practices in Turkey contain information contrary to the qira'ah literature. As a matter of fact, the comments of the authors who wrote the tajweed work after the republic in our country, that the recitation tempo affected the madd amounts, were determined and it was determined that the authors in question used the amounts of the schools haphazardly, for this reason, it has been seen that the current situation causes inconsistencies in the amount of madd. Another point that draws attention in the same works is that in the types of madds in which more than one madd level is appreciated, it is decided that each grade can be used absolutely without considering the power order of the madds. It has been observed that there are serious difficulties in some of the texts related to the stages of madd muttasil and madd munfasil, and it has been observed that this problem has forced even authors such as Ibn al-Jazari and Yusufefendizâde.
