Abstract (EN)

In this study, it has been examined the sewerage systems of Adıyaman province and rural settlements in Adıyaman province and the interaction of these sewage systems with the water source from which the residents of the region supply drinking water and it was evaluated whether these situations pose a danger to public health. In addition, in the study, it is aimed to compare the infrastructure system data of Adıyaman province and its rural settlements and the infrastructure system of Canada. For this purpose, information was collected by contacting the local government officials of the villages. Obtained data and TUIK data were discussed. In addition, the data obtained from the official website of the state where the data shared by Canada is located and the data of Turkey were compared, and it was aimed to evaluate the province of Adıyaman and rural settlements. The sample of this research consists of 127 villages in the Central district of Adıyaman province and 10 provinces and 3 regions of Canada. In this study, it was observed that 76% of the rural settlements in the central district of Adıyaman had a sewage removal system but no wastewater treatment system, and in some settlements, sewage became a problem and seriously threatened public health. Infrastructure data of Canada's Rural settlements were examined. Although some infrastructure works have not been completed, a situation that may pose a health and environmental hazard has not been determined. Based on these results, it is recommended to establish sewerage systems in rural Adıyaman and to eliminate the public health risk arising from sewage.
