Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the war verses in the Holy Quran from the perspective of literary depiction. The core problem of the research is to reveal how the narrative forms used in war-themed verses are shaped within the framework of rhetoric and literary descriptive elements. In this study, qualitative research method and text-centered analysis were utilized; the verses were evaluated through classical rhetoric and modern exegetical approaches. Furthermore, a multi-faceted reading was conducted by taking into account the reasons for revelation (asbab al-nuzul), the context (siyaq-sibaq) relationship, and war terminology. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the war verses contain a powerful literary depiction, and this structure creates a visual and psychological impact on the addressee. Additionally, it was observed that these verses do not merely contain rulings, but also offer an aesthetic narrative structure. It was identified in the literature that war verses are generally addressed from jurisprudential and historical perspectives, whereas the dimension of literary depiction has been examined to a limited extent. This study presents a rhetoric-based analytical approach by making the literary aspect of the Holy Quran visible through the war verses.
