Abstract (EN)

The fact that Ottoman Empire survived for a very long time is the sign of its powerful governmental, judicial, financial and military system. Therefore, Ottoman Empire attached great importance to its record keeping system in order to facilitate the governmental process.Of all these records, Records of Religious Affairs are the ones that have only the legal status. However, the content of taken decisions give us all the necessary information to enlighten the Ottoman social life.Records of Religious Affairs are one of the first hand sources that include the judgments, records, and correspondences of cadis? who carried the authority of judgment and execution of public service beginning from the middle of the 15th. century to the first quarter of the 20th. century.In this thesis, we discussed the legal events and their social aspects that took place in Kütahya in 1926 a.d.Keywords: Court, Judge, Kütahya, Ottoman Code of Civil Law, Record of Religious Affairs.
