Abstract (EN)

As is the case all over the world, the aviation sector in Turkey is among the transportation areas that are developing rapidly and steadily. With the increasing interest in the aviation sector, the effects of emissions from transportation vehicles used in the sector on air quality and climate change are also changing. In this study, the environmental impacts of emissions from aircraft using Kütahya and Uşak airports between 2020-2022 were examined by comparing them with each other. In the examination, emissions from aircraft using both airports (CO2, NOX, PM, H2O, HC, SOX, CO) were calculated separately according to IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) Tier 2 and the results obtained were compared with each other. In the calculations, considering the aircraft traffic, passenger volume, aircraft take-off and landing times, aircraft take-off and landing numbers, and emissions from aircraft types between 2020-2022, it was observed that the harmful emissions from aircraft using Kütahya airport were higher than the emissions from aircraft using Uşak airport. Therefore, the harmful effects of aircraft using Kütahya airport on air quality and the environment were determined and these values were compared with each other by transferring them to tables and graphs. In addition, the LTO values of commercial flights and related processes were monitored.
