Abstract (EN)
In a basic meaning, the catechism is a book written to teach the rules of Islam. The catechism called Mukaddime, written by Kutbeddin İznikî, it is acceppted as the first catechism. The work has a significantly value in religion and language studies both as pioneer of catechism tradition in Anatolia and because it contains the substantial linguistic specifications of the Old Anatolian Turkish period. Mukaddime, registered under the name of Anonim Bir İlmihâl Kitabı, examined in the context of language specifications of Old Anatolian Turkish period in this study. In the study, there is an introductory section that includes information about the work in question and briefly its language specifications, followed by a transcript of the Arabic letter text, its translation into today's Turkish and a dictionary in the form of an index. With this study, objectives such as being able to read and understand a historical text in Arabic letters and to handle the vocabulary with the philological method at the master's degree are achieved.
