Abstract (EN)

When it comes to write the human history, religion is one of the unique concepts that needs to be drawn with thick marks and that shields its existence in almost every periods of the history. Religion, which was the founding principle by providing the establishment of the societal itself, revolved its power with the emergence of the politics, but was always being visible in the scene. After the modernization period, one must come to conclusion that religion was converted to a secondary subject and was repealed, by purifying it from its sacredness. On the contrary, religion is the primary means of politics in legitimization of its power. Religion which was being secularized with the modernization, became almost commodified with capitalism, entered into the field of economics intelligence. Today, religion is being made a means, instead of being 'sacred'. Halal food, which grew up rapidly through the world in general in the last two decades, is a recent example of this transformation. Although it has a religious ground, halal food is actually taking attentions by its proprietorship of an important share of the market. The concept of ?halal? which takes its roots from the Kur'an, sacred book of the Muslims, is not being evaluated in the same scale with the religion which is the founding principle of the establishment of the societal since it's a label on a product that is derived to the market. In the same way, this study is an essay that aims to examine the field of halal food, parallel with the transformation of the religion.
