Analysis of stereotype expressions in Latife Tekin's novels

Latife Tekin, who published her first novel in 1983, created differences both in terms of the subjects she dealt with and the language she used, made a name for herself in a short time and took her place among the important writers of post-1980 Turkish literature. What made her beloved by readers in a short time was her use of an unorthodox language. Along with magical realism, he brought a different perspective to literature with the difference in language and style. The author, who has made a name for herself with her subjects, has also attracted attention with the different language structure she uses. Numerous studies have been conducted on Latife Tekin's works, the subjects of her works and character analysis. In this study, the stereotypical expressions in Tekin's novels Sevgili Arsız Ölüm, Berci Kristin Çöp Masalları, Gece Dersleri, Buzdan Kılıçlar, Aşk İşaretleri, Ormanda Ölüm Yokmuş, Unutma Bahçesi, Muinar, Manves City, Sürüklenme and Zamansız are analyzed. The aim of the study is to find out the stereotyped expressions such as idioms, proverbs, measured words, oaths, applause (prayers), wishes, curses, slang and swearing that make up the vocabulary of the language in the novels. The study consists of "Introduction", "Latife Tekin's Life, Art and Works", "Stereotyped Expressions in Latife Tekin's Novels" and "Conclusion". In the "Introduction" section, the subject, purpose, importance, scope and methods used in the study are mentioned. In the section titled "Latife Tekin's Life, Art and Works", Latife Tekin's life, art and works are emphasized and a summary of the eleven novels within the scope of our study is given. In the section titled "Stereotyped Expressions in Latife Tekin's Novels", the stereotyped expressions in Latife Tekin's novels are classified under the headings "Idioms", "Proverbs", "Words of Measure", "Oaths", "Applause (prayer)", "Wishes", "Curses (curse)", "Slang and Profanity". This "Idioms" section is classified into three sections as "Common Idioms Used in Proverbs and Idioms Dictionaries and L. Tekin's Novels", "Idioms Used in L. Tekin's Novels but Not in Proverbs and Idioms Dictionaries" and "Other Idioms Used in Novels". The group "Other Idioms Used in Novels" is given under two headings: "Changing Idioms" and "Idioms Belonging to the Author". In the "Conclusion" section of the study, the numerical data of the formulaic expressions in Latife Tekin's eleven novels were given in a table and an evaluation was made on how frequently these expressions were used. The sources used in the study are given in the " Bibliography " section.
