Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between high school students' academic grit levels, positive future expectations and academic procrastination levels. This research is a correlational study. The phase which consists of high scgool students studying in the southeastern anatolia regian in the 2021-2022 acedemic year of the research population; the sample consist of 1328 students participoting in the research voluntarily. Personal Information Form, Academic Grit Scale (AGS), Positive Future Expectation Scale (PFES), and Academic Procrastination Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. In the analysis of the data, t-test was used for independent groups to determine whether continuous variables differed according to demographic variables, and one-way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA) was used to compare the mean scores of more than two categories. Hierarchical regression analysis was used to predict positive future expectations and academic grit of academic procrastination. According to the results of the research, it has bean concluded that there is a moderate negative relationship between academic grit and academic procrastination, a moderate relationship between positive future expectation and academic procrastination, and a moderate positive relationship between academic grit and positive future expectation. Positive future expectation and academic grit explained %32 of the variance in academic procrastination. In addition, it has been concluded that positive future expectation, academic grit and academic procrastination mean scores differ according to some demographic variables.
