Lütfullah el-Erzurûmî's "Ramuzu't-Tahrir ve't-Tefsir" review of the judicial work

The Ottoman period was rich in religious publications and publications like the previous periods, and it was almost a golden age of copyright, in which more copyrighted works were given in some areas than in previous periods. Some of the works written in this period were studied by researchers, and some are still waiting to be studied on the dusty shelves of libraries. Considering the numerous manuscripts waiting to be unearthed in the archives, it is very important to make an edition critique. However, it is extremely important that the researchers who will work in this field are competent in editorial criticism and that they abide by the critical principles and rules of the edition while reading the manuscripts. One of these rare works that await expert researchers on the dusty shelves of libraries is the work called Râmûzu't-Tahrîr ve't-Tafsîr, which belongs to one of the Ottoman scholars, Lutfullah Efendi. This valuable work written in the field of tafsir has been the subject of investigation by some researchers. However, due to its large volume, it could not be studied by a single researcher from beginning to end. In this study, we decided to criticize the edition of the Kehf and Yâsîn suras, that is, the 293-436 leaves, which are the unstudied parts of the related work. In the first part of our study, which we prepared as an introduction and two parts, information is given about the life of the author, the period in which he lived, his literary personality, his works and the method he followed in his related work.
