Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT The Determination of Acute Toxicity on Gammarus pulex (L.,1758) of Malathion The aim of this study was to investigate the acute toxicity (LC50) on Gammarus pulex (L.,1758) exposed to different concentrations of a malathion-containing commercial insecticide. Utilizing known standard toxicology methods, G. pulex samples were exposed to malathion at different concentrations. Throughout the study, the parameters such as water temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen were continuously controlled and not changed as much as possible. Six experimental groups were formed in this study. Experiments were carried out in 1 liter glass aquariums with 0.5 liters of water and 10 G.pulex individuals for each concentration group. For the determination of the LC50 value, the movement status of the creatures was observed and recorded by 24-hour periods. The lost G. pulexes were removed from the aquarium and left out of work. The study we made consists of 3 replicates with The LC50 value was found to be 1.58 ± 0.56 mg/L the lower band level value was 0.47 ± 0.17 mg/L and the upper band level value was 5.46 ± 2.18 mg/L. Key words: Gammarus pulex, malathion, pesticide, acute toxicity
