Abstract (EN)
This study was prepared as a Master Thesis in the Department of Geological Engineering of the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences at Munzur University in 2018-2019 academic year. It covers construction of T2 tunnel (Km: 88+608.00-88+953.00) on the Hasançelebi passage in the scope of construction of Malatya - Hekimhan - 16. District Border highway, second part, section Km: 70 + 000-104 + 280 planned by General Directorate of Highways. This study includes engineering applications in a tunnel excavated by applying the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM). The necessity, importance and types of tunnels are mentioned. General geology of the study area has been investigated. Rock classification systems are mentioned. The engineering properties of rock and soil units are described and the drilling log data is evaluated. Tunnel types and support systems in the tunnel during tunnel excavation were determined by the obtained information. Information about the material used in the excavation work and the support compounds is given. The informations about the materials used for tunnel supporting sytems has been clarified.The tunnel excavation Works in the left tube within 207 days, in the right tube within 215 days has been completed and reached the light. Totally 344,28 M in the left tube, 367,08 M in the right tube has been used the supporting sytems. In these supporting systems, 8.602 M steel pipe support (forepole) , 54.352 M rock bolt, 612 steel ribs 5.360 CM shotcrete and concrete , 64.631 CM tunnel excavation has been used. The problems and solutions encountered in the construction stage are mentioned.
