Abstract (EN)

In our study, some points on the science of logic, which has been seen in various forms throughout history, are stated. Logicists and their contributions in various time periods are noted. Especially, the aims of teaching the science of Logic, in the Otttoman madrasas, the scholars who made studies on this subject and their books taught in madrasas were emphasized. In addition, the beginning of Symbolic Logic, which is the intersection point of mathematics and logic, the place it took in the Ottoman State, and the books that include this subject were paid attention. Fort his purpose, Mizanu'l Ukul belonging to Ali Sedad and Mizan-ı Tefekkur belonging to Salih Zeki, which encountered in the Ottoman State, were researched. With the intention of being useful in addition to the Mizanu'l Ukul of Ali Sedad, which was translated by Turkish Manuscripts Institution, Salih Zeki's work called Mizan-ı Teffekür was researched in detail and some of the original version of the book, transcription and its retranslation and interpretation with today's Mathematics and Logic terms are included. The next course of Logic is briefly included in the study.
