Evaluation of Mavisel Yener's fairy tale books in terms of values education

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the values of the tales of Mavisel Yener who has an important place in children's literature and to reveal the importance of the studied tales in the values education. Thirty-four stories written by Mavisel Yener were examined in the study. In this study, the interview technique, as one of the qualitative research methods were used and literature review and content analysis were performed. Thirty-four fairy tales were individually coded to determine the values. The study consists of three parts. After mentioning the theoretical framework in the first chapter, the second part includes information about Mavisel Yener's life, literary personality and his works. In the third chapter, the findings obtained from the tales were presented with examples and supported by graphs and tables. Finally, the results and suggestions obtained from the study were included. As a result of the study, nineteen values were determined in the thirty four tales by Mavisel Yener. These values are: Patience-stability-faith, self-reliance, the self-discipline- diligence, efficient time management, friendship-loyalty, tolerance, love, humility, sensitivity, responsibility, honesty, reliability, respect, justice, courage, favor, helpfulness, sharing, pity, thrift-contentment.
