The place and importance of Mehmed Abdülkadir's Kâvâʿid-i Lisân-ı Türkî in Turkish teaching

Along with the Tanzimat Period, many works were written on the education and training of Turkish. One of these is the 68 page work Kavâʿid-i Lisân-ı Türkî, written in 1905 by Mehmed Abdülkadir, who served as the Director of the School of Saâdet. In our study, the transcriptioned translation and evaluation of the work named Kavâʿid-i Lisân-ı Türkî has been made. While making the translation, the original of the work was adhered to and no additions or deletions were made. During the research, the scanning method was used, so the grammar studies of the period were examined. In our study, which consists of four parts, the first part is the title of the history of education in Turkish. In this section, the definition of the language, the history of Turkish teaching, important studies on Turkish teaching, Turkish teaching in educational institutions of the Tanzimat Era, and grammar books written in the Tanzimat Period and after are included. In the second part, the life and works of Mehmed Abdulkadir are briefly mentioned. In the third part, the translation of the work called Kavâʿid-i Lisân-ı Türkî into today's Turkish with transcription was made. In the fourth chapter, the work in question was examined by adhering to the titles in the original, and its place in Turkish teaching was tried to be determined. A glossary of terms has been added to the end of our study. The terms used in the work were determined and the current equivalents of these terms were written and a dictionary was created.
