Abstract (EN)

In this study, rapidly solidified CuAlMn based ribbons containing % 13 Al and 1-14 % Mn element by weight were produced by melt spinning method. The structural, shape memory and magnetic properties of produced ribbons were investigated. The parent phase was β1ı martensitic for ribbons with Mn content of 5 % wt. or less, whereas γ1ı martensitic for 7 % wt. or over. Retained austenite was also observed in ribbons including high manganese. The microstructure of produced powders consisted with stick-like and equaxial shaped grains. The phase transformation temperatures changed with Mn amount. Austenite-martensite and martensite-austenite phase transformation temperatures decreased with increasing manganese content, while ferromagnetic-paramagnetic and paramagnetic-ferromagnetic phase transformation temperatures increased with increasing manganese content. Two-way shape memory property was observed for ribbons containing 5 % wt. Mn or less whereas one-way for 7 % or over. The magnetic memory effect occurred in the ribbons containing high Mn. The saturation value increased with increasing Mn amount in the produced ribbons.
