Association of Aquaporin-4 expression levels with LINC00461/miR320a/miR216a expressions in meningiomas

Ö. , Association of Aquaporin-4 Expression Levels with LINC00461/miR-320a/miR-216a Expressions in Meningiomas, Eskisehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery, Medical Specialization Thesis, Eskişehir, 2025 In this study, it was aimed to compare Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) protein levels and the genetic material thought to play a role in their regulation between samples obtained from patients operated for meningioma and healthy dura mater tissues collected from individuals without neoplasia. Case groups were formed using samples obtained from 65 patients who underwent surgery at the Department of Neurosurgery, ESOGÜ. The control group was composed of dura samples collected from patients monitored for cerebrovascular events and who underwent decompressive craniectomy at the Department of Neurology, ESOGÜ. Expression levels of miR-320a, miR-216a, LINC00461, and AQP4, as well as immunohistochemical results for AQP4, were evaluated. In our study, expression differences were observed among meningiomas of varying grades, with a statistically significant association particularly identified in the miR-216a–AQP4 pathway.
