In this study, the views of Abu Yusuf in the book "al Hidayah", one of the leading sources of Fiqh (Islamic Law) of the Hanafi School were discussed and among these views, the issues that Imam Âzam and Imam MoHammâd oppose and stand alone in their views were determined. In the first section of the study, the concepts of Ijtihad, Fatwa, Mufta Bih as well as the information concerning the life, works and scientific features of Mujtahids are explained. The next section is the disagreements of Abu Yusuf in the field of Ibadah, the reasons of these disagreements and the stands of other Madhabs (sects) that could be determined on the issue. The following section is formed by discussing the opinions in the field of Munakahah (marriage) in the same manner. In the conclusion section, the attribute of Abu Yusuf as a Mujtahid is evaluated and the differences in his Ijtidah (jurisprudence) are taken into consideration in terms of method. As a result of this evaluation, it is determined and concluded that Abu Yusuf holds similar views on many issues with Imam Ebû Hanifah and Imam MoHammâd yet gives different jurisprudences on some issues as well and the reason of these differences is that Abu Yusuf adopts a number of distinct approaches in the field of method.
