Abstract (EN)

The use of steel construction has been increasing in our country which is in the earthquake zone. One of the most important methods against lateral forces such as the earthquake and the wind is the use of steel cross. This study was performed in two stages experimentally and numerically. In the experimental analysis, three different earthquake recordings were applied to the different steel construction models which have an irregularity in the plan and a vertical irregularity in order to investigate the effect of the central steel cross by means of the vibratory table. During the implementation of earthquake recordings, the data were collected from the smart devices which were inserted on the steel construction models and a comparison was made between the traditional accelerometer and the smart devices. Seismosignal program was used during comparisons. In the numerical analysis of the study, steel constructions were modeled and analyzed with the same earthquake forces with the help of Sap2000 finite element program. Period values which were used in the finite element analysis were calculated by the free vibration damping ratio experiments. The data collected from the smart devices and the accelerometer, and the data collected from the Sap2000 finite element program were tried to be verified. When the results were examined, it was observed that the smart devices were not correct to a limited extent as the accelerometers.
