Abstract (EN)
Electricity is a fundamental source of energy that plays a critical role in every aspect of modern life. From lighting to heating and cooling systems, from communication to healthcare, and from industry to education, its range of applications is vast. As an indispensable element for sustaining modern living, electricity also brings with it various hazards and risks wherever it is used. Therefore, identifying these risks and taking necessary precautions is essential, especially in workplaces and institutions. This study aims to identify all electrical hazards that threaten occupational health and safety in a vocational and technical high school, to provide guidance on the necessary precautions, and to promote a culture of occupational health and safety. As a case study, Bingöl Karşıyaka Girls Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School was selected. The four main units of the school the main building, the dormitory, the preschool application center, and the bread production facility, were comprehensively analyzed. Checklists were used to identify sources of electrical hazards, and two methods the Fine-Kinney method and the L-Type (5x5) matrix were employed for risk assessment. The findings revealed a total of 71 electrical hazards. Of these, 31% were classified as very high risk, 32% as high risk, another 32% as significant risk, and 5% were considered to be within acceptable risk levels. The lowest risk score was 21, while the highest was 1440. The data obtained from this study not only provide a valuable risk map for the school examined but also offer insights that can be applied to similar vocational education institutions
