Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to present the views of metal technology teachers about the applied modular educatıon program on metal technology area in vocational and technical high schools.Fifty seven Metal Technology teachers who teach in vocational and technical high schools in 2011-2012 school year in Antalya and its towns participated in this research. A questionnaire form developed by the researcher was used as a means of Data collection. Analysis of the acquired data was carried out in two stages. First, the quantitative data obtained from teachers was entered into the SPSS program and a data set was created. The responses of teachers to open-ended questions in the questionnarie were registered on separate document and a qualitative data was created. Quantitative data in the data set was analyzed by using descriptive statistics (frequency, percent) techniques. Qualitative data in the data set was analyzed by using descriptive content analysis technique from qualitative data analysis methodsParticipants of the research stated the main reasons of why the moduler education program wasn?t fully implemented as lack of physical and technical equipment of schools and workshops, overdue arrival of modules to teachers, not being able to reflect the module grades to e-school system, insufficient readiness levels of students and students? not putting metal technology field in their priority preferences. As some solution proposals; the physical and technical equipment deficiencies in schools and workshops could be met by ministry of education or school sector cooperation, delivery of modules to teachers before the beginning of school time, opening up a space in e-school system for module grades, a better introduction of metal technology field to primary school and 9 grade students and as a result, students can put technology field among their priority preferencesKeywords: Metal Technology Area, Vocational and Technical Education, Module, ModularLearning System.
