Performance evaluation of existing buildings using quick scanning methods: Antalya Kepez/Dokuma environment application

Turkey's geographical location, 92% of it being on the earthquake zone and 98.4% of it living in these regions, shows that the population density in the country is focused on earthquake risk areas. Large and destructive earthquakes that have occurred in recent years bring to the fore the issue of earthquake safety of building stock. For this reason, it is necessary to examine the entire building stock in detail, identify risky buildings, prioritize life safety, and carry out legal regulations and inspections. In this way, buildings with potential risk of loss of life can be identified and necessary precautions can be taken. In this study, the Dokuma region of Kepez district of Antalya was examined. The buildings in this region are generally cooperative structures and have similar shapes and designs. The majority of the buildings were built after the 1980s and are still in use. Many studies have been conducted and various methods have been developed to evaluate these structures. If we look at the research on these methods in this study; In the first part, Turkey's earthquake history is discussed and the processes the country has gone through are detailed. In the second part, I gave information about the earthquake regulations that came into force and are implemented in Turkey as a result of these earthquakes. In the third chapter, I conducted a literature review of fast scanning methods and gave information about how to apply the calculation parts of the methods and the calculation stages of the P25 Fast Scan Method, which is the main subject of this study. In the fourth section, P Score calculations were made on the architectural and static projects of a building in the Dokuma region and 13 different buildings using the P25 Quick Scan Method. In the fifth chapter, the ground of the region and the comments made on the calculations are detailed. In the sixth chapter, the precautions to be taken based on the results of the calculations and the conclusions from the study were presented.
