Abstract (EN)

This thesis has been prepared for analyzing the novel "Ceviz Kurdu" written by Mevlüt Süleymanlı. Süleymanlı was born in Azerbaijan in 1943 and lives in Baku. In addition to his long and short stories which have been written in povest style, the author has the following five novels: "Göç", "Ceviz Kurdu", "Ses", "Günah Duası" and "Ermәni Adındaki Hәrflәr". The thesis "Ceviz Kurdu" has been selected as the subject of this study is the belief that Mevlüt Süleymanlı is one of the significant authors of the modern Azerbaijani literature. The thesis presents historical matters on Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani literature, first. Then, it offers information about Mevlüt Süleymanlı, his life, literary characteristics and works. At last, the content of the novel "Ceviz Kurdu" has been introduced and the novel has been analyzed from the following standpoints; sequence of events, time and space, characters, literature and wording. The novel has been translated to Turkish by the authors of this paper and elaborated with the help of previous research, so that another research would be available on Azerbaijani literature.
