Abstract (EN)

During the historical periods, while Denizli which hosts many civilizations has maintained in organizational structure the Ottoman State depending on province of Aydın, it gained province statute with proclamation of the republic. The various aspects of this process and its impact on the history of the city have examined several times by local and national researchers. Although many studies carried out by many valuable historians about the social, economic, religious, military and cultural history of Denizli, it was not any a monographic study on the "Denizli Health History/Services". To overcome this deficiency to in some degree, the subject "National Struggle and Denizli Health Services in the First Years of the Republic (1919-1938)" selected as the thesis study. The aim of this study, it was to investigated that health services which carried out in Denizli, contagious and epidemic cases, physicians and other health personnel, methods of struggle against diseases, health institutions and organizations serving in Denizli and activities of the Red Crescent in region and also the factors that affect directly or indirectly on health services using archival documents during 1919-1938. In this study, it was presented knowledges about the historical development of the subject, health institutions, contagious diseases and treatment methods of Republican administration take over the Ottoman.
