SUMMARY The Analyses of Form Function Technology and Meaning in Turgut Cansever's Projects in the Context of Architectural Autonomy and Civilisational Ben-idraki The purpose of this study is to investigate three main problems, such as architectural autonomy in built-environment; civilisational ben-idraki on the basis of existancial, historical and spatial belongingness.; traditional vs. modern form, function, technology and meaning in conceptual frameworks and built-environment, and, by focusing on an inter- contextual framework consisting of the conceptual framework of social sciences, architectural criticism, critic, architect and project. In architectural domain, there are some projects by star architects like Cansever and others, who are also very popular with their holistic approaches to build traditional/livable environments. In a micro scale, however, this study questions the possibility of Turgut Cansever's approach to provide sustainable environment in terms of form, function, technology and meaning. In a macro scale, this study provides different understandings to some basic concepts such as autonomy, civilisational ben-idraki and belongingness. The study consists of six chapters. These are The General Information, The Achieved Studies, The Findings, The Discussions, The Results and The Proposals. In the General Informations, the definition of problem, goal, case study area, the structure of architecture, the relationship between history-theory-criticism and theory-practice are mentioned; In the Achieved Studies, the general approach to the study, strategy and method of the study are explained. And later, Turgut Cansever projects are analysed in terms of form, function, technology and meaning; In the Findings, the analyses of form, function, technology and meaning are evaluated; In the Discussions, the study and its findings are linked to architectural research field, especially in Turkey; In the Results, literature research, the method of the study, analyses and findings connected with each other and the results are summarised; In the last chapter, there are four proposals, such as architectural criticism- the atmosphere- the concepts- the architects, concerning similar studies in future.
