Evaluation of the "occupancy" process of the design obtained, awarded and applied architectural design of architectural project competitions: Kahramanmaraş Kültür Park example

The competition process and the occupancy process of the competition final products that have changed during the preparation of application projects, construction and / or occupancy processes should be evaluated as a whole. In the built environment obtained by the construction of the final product of the competition, a built environment performance evaluation to be made within the scope of post-occupancy evaluation based on user satisfaction during the occupancy process, in terms of solving existing performance problems, preventing future performance problems, as well as increasing the quality, eligibility and user satisfaction that will occur in the built environment is important. The aim of this study is to evaluate the level of competence through a representative model in terms of ensuring user satisfaction during the occupancy process of the final products of the competitions, which have undergone revisions in the preparation of application projects, construction and / or occupancy processes. In the first chapter of this study, which consists of six chapters, the problem that forms the basis of the study is defined, the aim, importance, limitations, assumptions and method of the study are explained and information is given about the literature research about the study. In the second part, the concept of evaluation is defined and information on post-occupancy evaluation and built environmental performance is given. In the third part, architectural project competitions are examined in detail. In the fourth chapter, the data of the study area, competition processes, occupancy process, spatial analysis and the survey regarding Kahramanmaraş Kültür Park, which is considered as a model, are explained. The differences that emerged by comparing the data obtained as a result of the spatial analysis made through the competition, application and the latest status projects and the data obtained by analyzing the survey findings are explained in detail in this section. In the fifth chapter, all findings obtained from the study are evaluated and discussed. In the sixth chapter, the results of the study were reached and the level of competence and built environment performance of Kahramanmaraş Kültür Park in ensuring user satisfaction were determined and various suggestions were placed.
