Space plasticity in architecture

Today, architecturel space is no longer just a physical environment, it has become an interaction environment. This change has affected the perception of the space as well as its shaping. In addition to the physical qualities of the space, its non-material relations are also effective on its formation. Although the concept of plasticity, which is closely related to formation, is used in the context of various phenomena in the architectural literature, its definition has not been found. Therefore, this study was carried out in order to explain the plasticity of space within the framework of a theory. The study consists of five parts: General Information, Previous Studies 1, Previous Studies 2, Findings and Discussions and Results. In the General Information section, the definition of the problem, the explanation of the assumption and the introduction of the method are made. In Studies Previous 1, plastic, plasticity, and spatial shaping are introduced, and the definitions of the concepts of plastic and plasticity in different disciplines are conceptualized and listed at the end of the chapter. In Previous Studies 2, discourses containing the definition of space were analyzed with the Grounded Theory approach and the conceptual dynamics of space were revealed under four categories: impulses, tools, actions and quality. The information obtained from the studies conducted in the Findings and Discussion section was mapped and compared, their similarities and differences were discussed, and the theory was produced based on the findings in the conclusion section.
