Abstract (EN)

In orthopedic surgery, devices and implants used in the extension of the extremity are being sought for solutions by using technologic and engineering approaches in order to minimize the complications caused by providing more comfortable and healthy results in the healing process of the patient. There are many extremite extension devices and studies used to treat height inequalities. In this study, it is aimed to apply the mini motor systems used in the current height extension devices used in orthopedic surgery. The feasibility, design, analysis and production studies of a new electromechanical length extension system, which is different from the existing length extension systems used, were followed and the orthopedic implant production processes were followed and compared experimentally with existing conventional implants. The newly developed height extension system has been developed to provide the distraction forces necessary for extremity extension mechanism. With a programmable control unit, it is possible to extend the length without the need for an external power source. There is no statistically significant difference between intramedullary nails under anatomical loads in terms of biomechanical aspects of the electromechanical length extension system. Given the diversity and limitations of the systems used in the lengthening surgery, new clinical and engineering studies of implants should be undertaken.
