Abstract (EN)
Today, the most important problems in the world are environmental pollution and especially air pollution. Air pollution has become so severe that it is estimated to cause the death of about 1 in 8 people worldwide. Because of the importance of air pollution, all components of air pollution are highly important for human health and therefore studies on air pollution particularly in densely populated areas are very important. This study aims to determine the regional and periodic changes in CO2, particulate matter and noise pollution during the winter period in Misurata (Misrata), one of the important cities of Libya. The study was conducted in the city center of Misrata. Measurements were made every three days from 15 November to the end of February at seven different points determined in the city center. The measurements were made in five different time periods during the day, and eight pollution factors were measured with portable measurement devices: CO2 concentration (ppm), noise pollution (dB), and six different sizes (pieces) of particulate matters. The changes in the pollution parameters by the month, time period, and weekday in each region were evaluated through analyses conducted on the obtained data. It was found out in the study that the cleanest areas in terms of all pollution parameters were the industrial zone in the east of the city (B3) and the Al-Swehli farm (B4) while the most polluted areas were the city center and the main street in the city center (B1 and B2).
