Abstract (EN)

Interdisciplinary studies, which have become increasingly important in recent years, have paved the way for the design of comics, which have a deep-rooted knowledge, from different perspectives. Comics, which have turned into mobile forms with the possibilities offered by multimedia technology, can be prepared with a rich content and accessible on mobile, with the interaction and ease of use provided by mobile broadcasting, as well as the media functions of multiple components and increasing mobile devices. This new form, which emerged under the name of animated comics, is also in the position of a teaching material that will enrich the teaching process, meet the needs of current education approaches and affect the success of the course, since the characters and space elements can be transferred with the text, image and time components on the montion comic book panels. In this research, which aims to measure the effect of designing, developing, applying and teaching motion comics as a mobile teaching material, the theoretical background of the thesis was formed by scanning the theoretical data on the subjects of mobile publishing, comics and motion comics design. For the application project of the thesis study, motion comics were designed for students in the 10-14 age group of secondary education and accessed via mobile publishing. In order to measure the effect of using the designed motion comic as a teaching material on course success, an academic achievement test was prepared by conducting a literature review and taking the opinions of field experts. An motion comic book design was applied to the experimental group and the traditional method was applied to the control group, and the difference in course success between the students was examined and the results were reached with quantitative data. SPSS for Windows 22.0 program was used for statistical solutions of the quantitative data collected in the research. In the light of the data obtained in the study, a significant difference was reached in favor of the experimental group students who used motion comics as teaching materials, and suggestions were made for designers, researchers and practitioners.
