Ideology and political ideas of Mohammed Qutub

Muhammad Qutb(b.1919-d.2014)who is one of the thinkers of the twentieth century lived in a time when the Islamic world was in both social and political trouble. He wrote many bookks on behalf of the Islamic society in Egypt, where the current troubles were experienced. He tried to raise awareness of Muslims with the Qur'an and to build an exemplary human being who would resurrect the Islamic Ummah. According to Qutb, he emphasized the Qur'an and tawhid in order to regulate all legal requirements and responsibilities in the lives of believers according to the principle of tawhid. The principle of tawhid leads to the unity of the creator in prayers, the unity of resources in law, and the unity of social order that shapes social life.Throughout mankind history, some people usurped the right of Allah and demanding obedience to their false authority, they have enslaved humanity.Considering Qutb's findings and criticisms, we can say that his political thoughts aim to build a Qur'an-centered revival project and an ideal and leading Qur'an generation.The content of our study has emerged by using of Muhammad Qutb's works translated into Turkish and journals, articles and memoirs written about him. In the introduction part of our thesis, it is given information about the subject, purpose, importance and limitations of the research.In the first chapter, it is discussed the definition of Islamism and Muhammad Qutb's being Egyptian and Ikhwan-i Muslim in order to understand Muhammad Qutb's life and thoughts. In the second part, it is emphasized that Muhammad Qutb's theological thoughts, tawhid and his approach to the Qur'an, his opinion about the prophet and the Companions. Furthermore, in this research there are views on the situation of Muslims, the work of the West and how the Islamic awakening will be. In the last part, it is given the concept of politics, Qutb's thoughts on state administration, justice and theocracy.
