Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine the instrument practice habits and methods of flute students in Music Education Departments and to examine them in terms of various variables. The sample group for the study consists of a total of 85 flute students studying in the Music Education Departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Adnan Menderes, Balıkesir, Çanakkale 18 Mart, Dokuz Eylül, Gazi, Gaziosmanpaşa, Pamukkale, Trakya, and Bursa Uludağ Universities during the 2022-2023 academic year. Data collection tools such as the "Personal Information Form," the "Individual Instrument Practice Habits Scale" developed by Küçükosmanoğlu, Babacan, Babacan, and Yüksel (2016), and the "Instrument Practice Methods Scale" were used in the research. Parametric tests were employed for data analysis. According to the data collected, flute students' practice habits and method scores were found to be at a high level. Additionally, a positive relationship was observed between flute students' practice habits and method scores. There was no significant difference in flute students' practice habits and method scores based on gender, the university they attended, or their class level. However, significant differences were found between these variables and flute students' choices regarding individual instruments, whether they received flute education before their undergraduate studies, and their perception of success in playing the instrument.
