Abstract (EN)

Battery is a device used for energy's storing and converting electrical energy. Batteries consist of electrochemical devices, like one or more electrochemical cells, fuel cells or flow cells. Thermal batteries are more enduring and stronger according to conventional battery. Especially it is preferred as defense and military purposeful. İn this thesis is manufactured medium range of a new thermal batteries by improving the electrolyte material used in thermal batteries. İn thermal batteries medium power range are prepared new mixtures consist of binary organic salt systems to use as electrolyte material. The thermophysical properties of these new mixtures prepared has been improved by adding nanoparticles. DSC and thermal conductivity meter is used to determine thermophysical properties of the new mixture. These new binary electrolyte mixtures prepared and nanoparticles doped binary electrolyte mixtures are used in thermal batteries manufactured prototypes. Prototype testing results showed that voltage generated in thermal battery used nanoparticles doped electrolyte is increased to 40 percent. Some of the electrolyte mixtures haven't been providing ion migration between the anode and cathode although to these electrolyte mixtures are provided eutectic mixture and improved thermal properties with contribution to nanoparticle.
