Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to determine the variation of endogeneous gibberellin content in different parts of buds, flowers and small fruits of Hicaznar pomegranate cultivar grown in Antalya region. The meterials used in this experiment were taken pomegranate cultivar Hicaznar from Antalya Citrus and Greenhouse Crop Research Institute Serik-Kayaburnu Station. The analysis of taken samples were done at the Central Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty and Physiology Laboratory of Horticultural Department, Akdeniz University. In the result of the experiment, it was found that there were some variation in gibberellin level of buds, flowers and small fruits in Hicaznar pomegranate cultivar. Gibberellic acid (GA3) level was found slightly high in small buds and sepal of fertile flowers during flowering period. At the full bloom period, GA3 level was found to be high in the male organ of fertil and unfertil flowers. At the end of the flowering period, GA3 level was found to be high in ovary of fertil flowers. During this period, GA3 level was higher in fruit peel than the interior. KEY WORDS: Pomegranate {Punica granatum L. cv. Hicaznar), flowers, buds, fruits, gibberellin-like compound, gibberellic acid (GA3), highy performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), bioassay.
