The effect of a Narrative Therapy Based Group Program of marital satisfaction levels of married individuals

The level of marital satisfaction is associated with the extent to which spouses are satisfied with their relationships, and challenges in maintaining this satisfaction can lead to various problems in marriages, such as conflict and divorce. Therefore, it is crucial to develop intervention programs aimed at increasing the level of marital satisfaction among married individuals. This study aims to examine 'The Effect of A Narrative Therapy Based Group Program of Marital Satisfaction Levels of Married Individuals.' The research was designed in accordance with the pre-test-post-test control group model. The study group consists of 14 individuals, including 11 married women and 3 married men residing in Elazığ, Turkey (only one spouse from each couple). The data collection tools used in the study include a demographic information form and the Marital Satisfaction Scale, developed by Canel (2007), to measure the participants' marital satisfaction levels. According to the research results, the post-test marital satisfaction levels of the participants in the experimental group who attended The Narrative Therapy Based Group Program have significantly increased compared to the pre-test levels. In the control group, however, no difference has been observed. However, contrary to expectations, no significant difference was found in the marital satisfaction levels between the experimental and control groups.
