Abstract (EN)

This study investigates brazing techniques for nickel-based sweep alloys to meet the high performance and durability requirements of advanced technology applications such as aerospace and energy sectors. Brazing is an effective method preferred for joining materials with complex geometries and thin wall thicknesses. In this framework, Inconel 718 and Inconel 625 materials were used as AMS4787 filler material. The effect of brazing on the microstructural and mechanical performance of nickel plating in the joining process was evaluated in detail. The study focused on investigating the effects of critical parameters such as nickel plating, joint clearance, lap distance and wetting rate in the joining process. The study, in which surface preparation techniques and filler material compositions are prominent, was carried out by vacuum furnace brazing process. Microstructural analysis of the brazed specimens was carried out by optical microscopy and radiographic examination methods. Mechanical performance was evaluated by means of tensile tests and shear tests. This study is intended to make significant contributions to the literature on braze joining techniques of Inconel 718 and Inconel 625 materials using AMS4787 filler material and to shed light on future applications in critical areas such as the aerospace industry and the energy sector.
