Evaluation demands for wood-based forest products;sample of Yilanli Forest District Directorate

The prominence of economic value, amount and demand of wood raw materials produced from forests in addition to the ecological and social functions of forests as natural resources are increasing in parallel. The purpose of the study is to determine which industrial wood demanded by the companies that will buy wood-based forest products more, the importance of the quality and standardization of the product, and to create a demand forecast analysis in order to create a rational utilization by taking these issues into consideration in subsequent production programs. In this context, the demand conditions and opinions of the wood raw material supplied to the market by the Muğla Forestry Regional Directorate, Yılanlı Forest District Directorate, which was selected as a sample forest business, were collected through a questionnaire prepared in accordance with the subject. In the evaluation of the data obtained, frequency, percentage analysis, and Kruskal Wallis Test which are non-parametric test, was used because the data is no normal distribution. As a result, it was determined that the demand for log type wood raw materials is high from the forest directorate and there is no problem in the size of the wood raw materials sold. The main problem is that in the wood raw material sales auctions, it was stated that the demand was excessive and the prices were high due to insufficient supply. Financially, while this situation is positive for forest directorates that sell wood raw materials, it is negative for the forest products enterprises supplying this raw material and also for the final consumers.
